Biofeedback

Health through Awareness

The world can be stressful, fast-paced and demanding. Our environment plays a huge part in our health and how we are able to live life. Our body is the "vehicle" we have to travel and navigate through our world.

Like an iceberg, what we see and experience may be just the "tip" of what is going on. Bringing awareness to our thoughts, feelings and actions can by itself be a healing and growing experience.

Using biofeedback may add another whole new level to understanding our self and finding inner resources to manage the situations around us. We may not be able to change our situations but we can change and strengthen our "vehicle" to live as well as possible in these situations.

Biofeedback is the process of gaining greater awareness of many physiological functions using equipment that give us insight into these functions. Through gaining this insight we may learn to change them at will.

Like practising and learning a musical instrument we can practice and learn and improve our performance. Some of the processes that can be controlled include brainwaves (neurofeedback), muscle tension, heart rate, pain perception, stress management, performance and sleep.

In biofeedback, you are connected to sensors that help you receive feedback about your body and gently coach you to a more comfortable state with changes to thoughts, emotions, and behaviour.

Biofeedback is a way to learn how to change your physiology for the purposes of improving health and performance. Biofeedback works by providing you with real-time information about what is happening in your body.
